Oceans Alive! Borosilicate Bead
#mwd_focal_02 Oceans Alive! Borosilicate Bead
I can almost see underwater currents moving through this bead!

Material: Borosilicate Glass
Method: Lampworked
Size: approx. 18mm x 7.5mm

The disk bead, or rondelle, will stand forever as one of my favorites. No matter what design I create my first thought is "what would this look like as a disk? I like to hang solo disks as pendants, but also enjoy grouping them in necklaces.

I don't use special tools to create them, no bead molds or machines. They are made one at a time with my own two hands and (thankfully) steel mandrels to hold the molten glass as I spin it in the flame.
