A lovely set of my butterfly beads (sample pair shown above). If you choose to use a couple as earrings instead of of stringing them all for a larger project, there are at least two good earring pairs in my opinion, possibly three.to choose from.
The design for this bead was the result of one of my creative right turns. It was not what I had started out to do in that moment on the torch, but the result has become one of my current favorite small designs. Many times when I am working on the torch an idea will occur and if I'm not willing to change my direction right then, the idea might be lost before I am able to finish the work at hand and write it down.
When I strung the first of these beads together the image that came to mind when I saw the continuous pattern was the delicate structure of butterfly wings. |
